Meemure
Meemure is a village of Sri Lanka near the border between Kandy District and Matale District in the Knuckles Mountain Range with the population about 400. Meemure is one of the most remote villages in Sri Lanka with the only access via a 14km trail from the town of Loolwatte. To imagine how remote this village is, there is no cellular service to this village; only the CDMA telephones are available. Meemure village owns an exceptional natural beauty. It is rich with natural beauty as well as Traditional Sri Lankan styles. Villagers of Meemure depend on several staple crops including pepper, cardamom, paddy and ginger.
MEEMURE 3 DAY EXPEDITION - ITINERARY
| Day 1 | Leave Negombo at 5.30am in the morning. On the way we will be taking our breakfast. (Customer has to pay for their breakfast. Ceylon Max Travels will not charge for first day breakfast) Arrive at Meemure around 10.00am. Go to the campsite and setting up the tents. Village experience. Traditional village lunch. Start the hike to the hidden waterfall around 2.30pm. Arrive at the hidden waterfall. Enjoy the scenic view of the surrounding and have a natural bath at the waterfall. Hike back to the campsite for the amazing night. Dinner time. Enjoy the night at a 5 billion star hotel. |
| Day 2 | Starting the second day having the morning tea at the campsite. Have a wash at the stream beside the campsite. Breakfast time. Village Explore. Leave the campsite to the Seven Steps Waterfall. Enjoy the memorizing view of the Seven Steps Waterfall and have a natural bath at the waterfall. Lunch time at the waterfall. Explore the area. Head back to the campsite for the amazing 2nd night at Meemure. Dinner time. Enjoy the night. |
| Day 3 | Starting the third day having the morning tea at the campsite. Have a wash at the stream beside the campsite. Breakfast time. Village Explore. Hike to Suriya Arana Falls for water activities. There are two kinds of water activities, Normal Water Activities and Advanced Water Activities. The customer can pick his/her preferred category. For Advanced Water Activities additional charges will be applied. Hike back to the village. Lunch time. Head back to hometown. |
